Reports emerged Monday night that T-Mobile (TMUS:NSD) users across the United States experienced widespread service outages. Websites that track service interruptions, including Downdetector.com and Product-Reviews.net, reported that T-Mobile users in multiple areas experienced outages, with many Twitter users also reporting service issues.
Users reported being changed to “SOS mode,” which meant that they were not directly connected to the network but could still make emergency calls. T-Mobile’s President of Technology, Neville Ray, issued a statement on Twitter early Tuesday, indicating that the service had seen significant improvement and was operating at nearly normal levels.
However, the company has not yet provided details on the cause or extent of the outage. Reports indicate that service eventually was restored for many affected customers.
